“The first week of this month was International Cat Week, and as the cat is, above all animals, the writer’s pet, I suppose I should have written something about it. But I do not care about “weeks”, and every week is a cat week with me.” – Robertson Davies, Mehitabel (1959)

Reading both your blog and Tweets, I think you’d really like the work of Jonathan Carroll. He’s an American who’s lived most of his life in Vienna. Very enigmatic guy. His work is a kind of combo of Auster,Murakami and Robertson Davies, but in the end it’s very sui generis and quite wonderful. He also keeps one of the great daily blogs on his website http://www.jonathancarroll.com
Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the recommendation Fiona – I’m a big fan of both Murakami and Davies, so Carroll is officially added to my TBR list.
